LAHORE: Lahore and other regions of Pakistan experienced light intermittent rainfall overnight and into the early morning, providing relief from the intense heat but also causing flooding in low-lying areas.
The citizens of the Provincial capital will experience temperatures ranging up to 25 to 33 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is increased to 54%, whereas the wind is moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 18 km/h.
Earlier, heavy rain and cool winds in the early morning brought a pleasant change in weather. However, the downpour resulted in flooding in several low-lying areas, including Lakshmi Chowk, Abbot Road, Shimla Hill, Mall Road, Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Qurtuba Chowk, Choburji, Islam Pura, Band Road, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, Mughal Pura, Taj Pura, Farooqabad, and Chowk Nakhoda. Power outages were also reported in several parts of the city.
Rawalpindi and Taxila may also experience heavy rainfall. Islamabad saw light showers, improving the weather conditions but also causing some flooding in low-lying areas.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted additional rain across various parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
