List of accepted demands made public by JAAC

Shocking Audio Leak: JAAC Leaders Discuss Rawalakot Violence, Claims Report

MUZAFFARABAD: The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) of Azad Kashmir has released the points of all the demands accepted in the talks with the federal government.

The Azad Kashmir Joint Action Committee, while posting pictures of the talks agreed upon with the government on social media, said that Alhamdulillah, they had come out with 38 demands and 42 have been accepted.

All the demands of the Joint Action Committee of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been accepted.

Points of the agreement

  • Cases will be registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act for the loss of precious lives due to violent incidents in Azad Kashmir! A judicial commission will be formed in Banjosa, Palak, Muzaffarabad, Dirkot, Rayan Kotli and Mirpur to register cases, which will consist of a High Court judge
  • The citizens who died on October 1 and 2 will be given the same compensation as the families of the police personnel and those injured in the bullets will be given Rs 1 million each, the families of the deceased will be given a job within 20 days!
  • Two additional education boards of Muzaffarabad and Poonch divisions will be planned by the Federal Board of Education within 30 days!
  • The land acquired for the Mangla Dam in Mirpur will be regularized within 30 days
  •  The position of the Local Government Act 1990 and the court decision will be restored within 90 days!
  • The Azad Kashmir government will issue health cards in 15 days!
  • CT Scan and MRI machines will be provided in every district of Azad Kashmir in phases from government funds!
  •  The Government of Pakistan will pay Rs 10 billion for the improvement of the electricity transmission system in Azad Kashmir!
  • The number of members/advisors in the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir will be reduced to 20!
  • The Accountability Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Establishment will be merged and aligned with the NAB law!
  • The Government of Pakistan will conduct a feasibility study for the construction of two tunnels, one of which will be the Kahuri/Kamsir tunnel and the other will be the Chaplani tunnel, for which the Saudi government has provided funds in December 2022!
  • The seats of the refugees will remain suspended until the Special Law Committee gives its opinion, and the 6-member Law Committee will have two members from the Government of Pakistan, two members from the Government of Azad Kashmir, and two members from the Joint Action Committee!
  •  A plan will be formulated to establish an international airport in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir in the current financial year!
  •  Property taxes in Azad Kashmir will be as high as those in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 90 days!
  •  The High Court’s 2019 Hydel Project decision will be implemented!
  •  A feasibility study will be conducted for water supply in all 10 districts of Azad Kashmir in the current financial year!
  • Nurses will be posted in Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals, and an operation theater will be established!
  •  Bridges will be constructed in Gulpur and Rehman (Kotli)!
  •  Advance tax will be reduced!
  •  Admissions to educational institutions will be made on open merit instead of quota!
  •  Water will be supplied to Kashmir Colony, Dadhial!
  • Refugees who are in the Mandoor Colony of Dadhial will be given property rights!
  •  Transport policy will be reviewed as per the court decision!
  • Kashmiris arrested in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be released on September 30, October 1, and 2!

The Kashmir Action Committee wrote on social media that an Implementation and Monitoring Committee will be formed to implement and monitor the points agreed upon in the agreement, which will include Amir Muqam and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry from the Government of Pakistan, two members from the Government of Azad Kashmir, and two members from the Joint Public Action Committee.
