Murree traffic police issues advisory for tourist amid heavy snowfall

MURREE: The Murree traffic police has issued a new advisory for tourists and local residents planning to visit the popular hill station, which is recently experiencing heavy rainfall.

Firstly, the tourists are strictly advised to avoid visiting the area during night hours under any circumstances due to harsh weather conditions.

This step aims to minimize the risk of accidents and getting stranded on the roads. Furthermore, tourists are also asked to travel in four-wheel-drive vehicles, or in other vehicles equipped for proper driving in snow and icy conditions.

Additionally, people are requested to check their fuel tanks in case they get stuck in the snow. The traffic police spokesperson has urged the public to minimize the use of Carbon monoxide, as it is highly toxic for humans.

People are warned to leave their windows down slightly when the vehicle is running with the heater. However, we cannot forget that the exhaust pipe should not be blocked by snow, as this will build up high levels of carbon monoxide.

If the vehicle unfortunately gets stuck on the slippery roads, citizens are requested not to spend the night in their vehicle. They should seek help from the traffic police or any other emergency services.

Finally, the traffic police have reminded tourists to follow instructions from traffic wardens at different points and refrain from parking their vehicles on roads during snowfall. Following all the above points will go a long way in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable trip to the Murree area.
