NADRA launches amnesty initiative for citizens with incorrect CNIC information

NADRA launches nationwide e-Sahulat franchise data for citizens

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has brought about an important initiative that is urging people who have acquired their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) based on incorrect information, either intentionally or not, to voluntarily report themselves.

In its official public notice, NADRA stated that people who voluntarily report such anomalies will be provided with legal protection.

The program hopes to encourage openness and allow citizens to have a secure avenue to rectify identity-related mistakes without being subject to instant punitive actions.

The NADRA cautioned that not reporting false data may lead to legal action, as accurate identity data is important for national security and the proper provision of public services.

As part of its continuing drive for increased identity authentication and correctness of information, NADRA is encouraging people to walk into their local registration centers in order to correct any inaccuracies in their personal data.

Also, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has reduced the computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) delivery time and brought in extensive enhancements to the family registration certificates.

As per an official announcement, NADRA’s spokesperson has stated that the CNIC delivery time for the regular category has been reduced to half of 15 days from 30 days.
