NADRA unveils major upgrade in Pak ID Mobile App

How to activate biometric verification in NADRA PakID for passport, bank services?

ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a major digital upgrade to its PakID mobile application, introducing a new feature that will soon allow citizens to book appointments at NADRA Registration Centers (NRCs) directly through the app.

This highly anticipated feature, currently in its initial phase, will soon be available at 43 designated NRCs across the country, increasing convenience for applicants and reducing waiting times. The announcement was made through NADRA’s official communication platforms, signaling a significant step towards improving services to citizens under the government’s digital transformation agenda.

Key Highlights

  • Feature: Appointment Booking via Pak ID Mobile App
  • Availability: Coming soon in Phase I to 43 NRCs nationwide
  • Purpose: To streamline the process for ID card applications and related services at NADRA centers
  • Access: The app is available for download on Google Play and the App Store

PakID App, which is already in use for online CNIC applications and biometric login, will now act as a complete digital gateway by enabling citizens to reserve time slots at various mega and regional centres.

This innovation is expected to reduce overcrowding and improve efficiency at service points. The cities included in Phase I are Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Gujarat, Bahawalpur, and Gilgit, as well as remote areas like Skardu, Gwadar, and Diamer.

Citizens will be able to use the new feature to:

  • Book appointments
  • Check available slots
  • Receive confirmations
  • Avoid long queues and delays

NADRA has urged users to keep their PakID app updated to access new functionality once it is rolled out. This move is in line with NADRA’s broader mission to provide efficient, transparent and technology-based services to the public.
