Opposition alliance announces nationwide protest against 27th Amendment

ISLAMABAD: The opposition alliance has announced a nationwide movement against the proposed 27th constitutional amendment.

The announcement of the movement was made by the head of the opposition alliance, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.

In a conversation with the media, the head of the opposition alliance, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, said that the constitution is a civil contract between the state and the residents. I have been sworn in five times to protect the constitution. No one is recognizing the people, so we are going to the people. The people also kept asking when the movement should start.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that the way they are shaking the foundations of the constitution, there is no option but to move, our nationwide movement will start from tomorrow night.

The head of the opposition alliance said that we will have only one slogan from tomorrow night, long live democracy, down with dictatorship, our third slogan will be related to the release of prisoners.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that we will tell that the decision will be whatever the people of Pakistan want, we will tell that the constitution is supreme and the parliament will be the source of power.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said that the nation should rise up against the 27th Constitutional Amendment, democratic institutions have been paralyzed in Pakistan, more power has been given to the powerful by taking constitutional measures.
