LAHORE: Punjab Police on Tuesday dismissed more than 100 officials from service for refusing to perform security duties during the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025.
The officials, who belonged to the anti-riot force, were relieved from their duties on the orders of the DIG-Operations, police department sources said.
The dismissed personnel include Ateeq, Zain, Ali, Shiraz, Shan, Zubair, and Adeel.
Police officials said that the details of dismissed policemen were absent from their assigned security duties for the Champions Trophy while several others made excuses to avoid security duties for the cricket matches.
They emphasised that there’s no place in the department for those showing negligence and irresponsibility in performing their duties.
