GILGIT: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reached Gilgit on a one-day official visit to Gilgit-Baltistan.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Yaar Muhammad.
Several federal ministers are accompanying the Prime Minister, including Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Attaullah Tarar, Engineer Amir Muqam, Abdul Aleem Khan, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, and Special Assistant Talha Barki.

During the visit, the Prime Minister held separate meetings with the Governor and the Caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. The discussions focused on ongoing development projects, the law and order situation, and other administrative matters in the region.

Later in the day, Prime Minister Sharif is expected to inaugurate several key initiatives, including renewable solar energy projects, the Safe City program, a laptop scheme, and youth business and agricultural loan schemes. He will also lay the foundation stones of four Danish Schools in Gilgit-Baltistan.
