Power Division outlines recovery in flood-hit areas

Power theft crackdown in Lahore’s Jati Umra: Electricity cut to 95 homes

ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has released a report on the restoration of electricity in the flood-affected areas.

According to the details, 12 grids and 91 feeders of the PESCO areas of Swat, Banar, Shangla, Swabi, and DI Khan were affected.

The report said that 85 feeders of PESCO were fully restored and 6 were partially restored, while 82 feeders out of 10 grids and 87 affected feeders of GEPCO were fully restored and 5 were partially restored.

According to the Power Division report, 43 out of 62 affected feeders of LESCO in Lahore, Okara, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana have been partially restored, and full restoration is expected from September 2 to September 5.

According to the Power Division report, 26 grids and 76 feeders in the FESCO areas of TT Singh, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali and DI Khan were affected.

Out of the affected FESCO feeders, 72 feeders were temporarily restored, while 126 feeders were temporarily restored in the areas under MEPCO.

While the full restoration of the affected feeders will begin as soon as the water recedes in the areas under MEPCO, 10 feeders in the TESCO areas of North Waziristan and Khyber were affected.

1 feeder of Tesco was completed, and 4 feeders were temporarily restored.

According to the Power Division report, 2 out of 3 affected feeders in the Mansehra area under the management of Hezeco have been fully restored; thus, out of a total of 48 grids and 455 affected feeders, 170 have been fully restored and 256 have been temporarily restored.

The Power Division has said that full restoration of electricity in the affected areas is a priority.
