Good news announced for police officers

FAISALABAD: The court of Faisalabad city of Punjab has awarded the death sentence to 4 Punjab Police officials for killing two citizens in a fake encounter 6 years ago.

Reports said that Additional and Sessions Judge Sajida Akhtar pronounced the verdict and also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on each.

Head Constable Asghar Ali, Constable Falak Sher, Constable Faisal Rehman and Police Qaumi Volunteer Waqas have been sentenced to death for the fake encounter that took place in Faisalabad’s Millat Town in August 2018.

However, the court has acquitted ASI Javed Akhtar from the case as there was no evidence against him.

Arsalan Liaquat and Usman Munawwar were killed in the retaliatory firing.

A case of murder of the two boys was registered against the police officials in the complaint of a citizen named Sajid Mehmood.

The prosecution told the court that victims were riding a motorcycle and were on their way to Bagh Wali Pully near Millat Town when police officials killed them and later framed the incident as an encounter.
