Sindh govt to provide 500,000 solar systems to more families

Sindh launches free solar kits project for low-income households

KARACHI: In a recent development, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced plans to distribute an additional 500,000 solar systems to deserving families this year.

Talking to the media in Sukkur, CM Murad Ali stated that the government has initially planned to distribute 200,000 solar systems under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), with 50,000 units already delivered and the remaining set for distribution soon.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has directed that 500,000 solar systems be provided to underprivileged families later this year. This is a massive effort to enhance renewable energy access for those who are economically disadvantaged.

This initiative is part of the PPP’s larger plan to promote renewable energy and reduce the country’s reliance on fossil fuels. By providing solar systems to underprivileged families, they’re helping to reduce energy poverty and increase access to clean energy.

And with the waste-to-energy project, they’re tackling the issue of urban waste management while also generating clean energy. It’s a great example of how Pakistan is working towards a more sustainable future.
