MUZAFFARABAD: In a tragic incident in the Neelum Valley’s Chilhana area, a car plunged hundreds of feet down into the river, resulting in the death of at least six people.
Police and rescue teams, along with the assistance of residents, promptly launched a rescue operation at the site to recover the bodies and clear the area.
Earlier, two people lost their lives; one was seriously injured, and four were missing after a vehicle carrying a wedding party fell into a river in Gilgit on Sunday.
The incident took place near Burdas Nagar.
Rescue 1122 sources said that there were 7 people in the ill-fated vehicle, and the bodies of 2 people were recovered during the rescue operation.
All the people were returning after attending a wedding ceremony.
Rescue 1122 divers and local volunteers participated in the operation, which was ongoing till the filing of this report.
