LAHORE: Strong tremors were felt in various cities of Punjab on Tuesday morning, causing panic among the residents, according to media reports.
According to details, tremors were felt in Punjab’s capital Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Sheikhupura.
According to the Seismological Center, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 4.4, with a depth of 12 kilometers. The quake shook buildings, and people came out of their homes and offices chanting the Kalima Tayyaba.
According to rescue sources, no immediate reports of loss of life or property were received as a result of the earthquake.
Earlier, an earthquake hit the Zhob district of Balochistan and the surrounding areas on Monday, causing panic among the residents, according to media reports.
According to the National Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre located 40 kilometres southwest of Zhob. The depth of the quake was recorded at 20km beneath the Earth’s surface.
The seismic activity occurred just one day after a more strong 5.6-magnitude earthquake that devastated the Musakhel and Barkhan districts, while no immediate injuries or damage were recorded in Zhob.
