ABBOTABAD: A passenger van travelling from Rawalpindi to Ayubiya near Abbottabad fell into a gorge, killing three people and injuring 11.
Police said that four of the injured were in critical condition. The accident occurred due to heavy rain and snowfall.
Meanwhile, adverse weather conditions are affecting the northern regions. Snowfall in Naran, Kaghan and Shogran has added to the cold wave, where temperatures have dropped below freezing.
In Ghizer, a massive landslide at Gech has blocked the Gilgit-Chitral road. Heavy rains are lashing Balakot, while a landslide in Kohistan temporarily closed the Karakoram Highway, which has now reopened after 36 hours.
Authorities have provided shelter to 300 stranded passengers, including women who were kept in a primary school and men in a high school in Dasu. Food was also distributed among 150 women and 200 men.
