ISLAMABAD: The second lunar eclipse of this year will take place on September 18, but it will not be visible in Pakistan.

As per the details, a partial lunar eclipse will be visible in the United States, most of Europe, Australia, Africa, North and East Asia.

The penile phase of the lunar eclipse will begin at 7:12 a.m., the peak of the solar eclipse will occur at 7:44 a.m. and last until 8:15 a.m. The penultimate phase will end at 9:47 am.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun, blocking sunlight from reaching the Moon and obscuring it.

A lunar eclipse can be partial or total depending on the moon’s orbit.

According to NASA, during a lunar eclipse, the moon enters Earth‘s shadow, but some light still reaches the moon.
