Babar Azam retains position as World’s Top ODI Batsman

Babar Azam surpasses Shahid Afridi for most catches in International Cricket

DUBAI: Pakistan cricket star Babar Azam has once again reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Men’s One-Day Batting Rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.

With 809 rating points, Babar Azam is shining in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) with an impressive batting average of 56.95 and a strike rate of 88.70.

India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are at the second and third positions with 765 and 763 points respectively. No other batsman in the ODI format has come close to Babar’s remarkable rating points.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remains at the top spot in the latest ODI bowlers’ rankings while Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi has slipped one place to second.

Good news for Pakistan’s Saim Ayub too! After his brilliant unbeaten century against Zimbabwe, Saim has moved into the top 100 ODI batsmen by reaching the 90th position.

T20 Rankings

Australia’s Travis Head is at the top of the ICC T20 Batting Rankings, England’s Phil Salt is second and India’s Tilak Verma is third. Meanwhile, England’s Adil Rashid tops the T20 bowlers’ rankings, followed by Sri Lanka’s Winandu Harsanga and Australia’s Adam Zampa in second and third place respectively. Babar’s continued dominance in the ODI rankings cements his position as one of the best players in the world, while Pakistan’s rising stars like Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel add to the excitement for Pakistani cricket fans.

ICC Test Rankings

In the ICC Test Batting Rankings, England’s Joe Root remains at the top, followed by India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal. England’s Kane Williamson is at the third position. Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has moved up one place to 8th, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah has once again moved up two places to become the top-ranked Test bowler. Pakistan’s Nauman Ali remains at the 9th position.
