SEOUL: The undefeated Pakistan has won the Plate Division Cup final of the ongoing Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship in South Korea by defeating the Maldives by 60 to 35 goals.
Pakistan won seven consecutive matches, including the final, and did not allow the Maldives to take the lead in any quarter in the final.
The Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship was played between eleven teams, and they were divided into two groups. Group A was given the status of the Gold Cup Division.
Group A includes Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India, while Group B includes Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia included teams.
Earlier, Pakistan has thrashed Japan 64-39 to qualify for the final of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025 in Jeonju-si, South Korea, on Thursday.
The Green Shirts will now face the winner of the second semifinal between the Maldives and Chinese Taipei on Friday at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium.
At the outset of the match, Pakistan started well, claiming a 21-7 lead in the first quarter. Later, they extended the score to 34-19 by halftime, further maintaining grip on the game.
Pakistan kept dominating the game with a 42-28 score after the third quarter, and closed out the match with a 64-39 finish.
