ISLAMABAD (Zubair Kasuri): The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to recover over 70 billion rupees in outstanding dues from companies holding Long Distance International (LDI) licenses.
The court issued the order after a lengthy hearing regarding the non-payment of dues.
According to sources within the PTA, the authority has formed a legal team to address the issue and plans to announce a decision in the coming days.
The court has instructed the PTA to hear the companies’ positions and proceed with the recovery of the dues immediately.
This development is likely to have significant implications for the telecommunications sector in Pakistan, as the recovery of such a large sum could impact the financial standing of the companies involved.
