PESHAWAR: WhatsApp disputes are common, but a recent dispute in northwest Pakistan has caught everyone’s attention as the disagreement led to the murder of a group admin.
The dispute turned tragic when an angry member shot and killed the group admin after he was kicked out of the group.
The incident took place in Peshawar’s Regi Sajai area, where group admin Mushtaq Ahmed was targeted by the accused Ashfaq after a heated argument over his removal from the online group. Humayun, the brother of an eyewitness to the clash, reported the incident to the police.
The brothers were returning home after the argument with Ashfaq ended when Ashfaq opened fire on them. In an attempt to escape, the brothers took refuge at a nearby petrol pump. However, the accused chased them there and fired bullets.
A case has been registered by the victim’s brother, and a full investigation is underway. The victim’s body has been sent for postmortem and will soon be returned to her family.
