Karachi braces for prolonged heatwave as met office rules out rain in May

Met department issues heat wave alert

KARACHI: The city is in the grip of a heat wave, and the Meteorological Department has made a big prediction regarding rain in May.

Like the rest of the country, Karachi is also in the grip of intense heat, with the heat wave continuing due to the cessation of sea breezes. Monday was the hottest day of the current summer, and 10 deaths due to heat were reported yesterday.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is currently no chance of rain in Karachi this month of May. Another heat wave is likely to hit Sindh from May 7.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in the city is likely to decrease from today, however, the intensity of the heat will increase once again from May 13.

This morning, the temperature in Karachi was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius, which is likely to go up to between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius, while the humidity in the air is 20 percent.
