KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast for Karachi, predicting a dry spell with no rainfall expected over the next 10 days.
Starting Thursday, the city can expect a surge in temperatures by 1-2°C due to increased sunshine, making the heat wave even more intense.
Today, Karachi will experience partly cloudy and humid conditions, with temperatures ranging from 31°C to 33°C. However, from Thursday onwards, the city will witness more sunshine, leading to a rise in temperatures. The humidity in the city varies up to 66% and the air is moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 18 km/h.
The meteorological department has also reported that south-westerly winds from the sea will continue to blow in the coming days, bringing no relief from the heat.
Residents of Karachi are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period, such as staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak sun hours, and using protective gear like hats and sunglasses.
