Karachi weather forecast: Partly cloudy sky, scattered rain showers expected

Rain expected across most of Punjab till January 23

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted partly cloudy and humid weather in Karachi for the next 24 hours, with a chance of light to moderate rain showers expected in some areas.

The minimum temperature recorded on Wednesday morning is 27°C, while the temperatures are expected to rise from 32°C to 34°C during the day.

Whereas, the humidity level ranges up to 81% in the air, with winds blowing from the west at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.

However, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz later stated that the intensity of monsoon winds had significantly reduced, making rain highly unlikely in Karachi today.

While the chances of rain are low, Sarfaraz hinted at the possibility of scattered showers on the outer part of the city, including areas along the Superhighway, Gadap Town, and surrounding regions.

This comes after Karachi experienced torrential rains due to cyclonic storm ‘Asna’, which has since dissipated.

Meanwhile, the Met Office had earlier forecasted monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrating southern and eastern parts of the country, predicting rain-wind/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls in Sindh, northeast/south Balochistan, and south Punjab on Wednesday.

Moreover, isolated rain showers are also expected in northeast Punjab, Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.

Karachi Today’s Weather:

31°C
Precipitation: 3%
Humidity: 66%
Wind: 11 km/h
