Lahore weather forecast: Light rainfall, strong wind expected

LAHORE: Lahore and other regions of Pakistan experienced heavy rainfall overnight and into the early morning, providing much-needed relief from the intense heat but also causing flooding in low-lying areas.

The citizens of the Provincial capital will experience temperatures ranging up to 26 to 35 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is increased to 93%, whereas the wind is moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 18 km/h.

Heavy rain and cool winds in the early morning brought a pleasant change in weather. However, the downpour resulted in flooding in several low-lying areas, including Lakshmi Chowk, Abbot Road, Shimla Hill, Mall Road, Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Qurtuba Chowk, Choburji, Islam Pura, Band Road, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, Mughal Pura, Taj Pura, Farooqabad, and Chowk Nakhoda. Power outages were also reported in several parts of the city.

Rawalpindi and Taxila also experienced heavy rainfall, leading to power outages in multiple areas. Islamabad saw light showers, improving the weather conditions but also causing some flooding in low-lying areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted additional rain across various parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
