Lahore weather forecast: PMD predicts heavy downpour from August 26

LAHORE: Significant monsoon rains and gusty winds are forecasted for Lahore and various parts of Punjab starting from August 26. The residents of Lahore will experience pleasant weather accompanied by light and cool breeze.

The maximum temperature to be observed will range up to 36 degrees Celcius, whereas the minimum temperatures anticipated range between 25 to 27 degrees Celcius.

The humidity level increases up to 64%, the air is moving in the southwest direction at the speed of 8 km/h.

Moreover, PMD forecasts a 10% chance of precipitation in the next 24 hours. Heavy downpours may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Nowshera and Peshawar from August 26 to 28.

Heavy rains may trigger landslides in Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from August 26 to 28, according to the Met office.

According to the chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, the intensity of the rainfall is likely to remain between mild and harsh, potentially causing disruptions in daily life.
