Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene prices surge to record highs

Petrol, diesel hit Rs500 per litre in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: The recent tense regional situation in the country and the impact of rising prices in the global market have led to a record increase in the prices of petroleum products.

During the month, the price of kerosene has increased by Rs 252.87 per liter, the price of petrol by Rs 63 per liter, and the price of high-speed diesel by Rs 60.16 per liter.

On February 28, 2026, the price of petrol was Rs 258.17 per liter, which has now reached Rs 321.17 per liter. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel was Rs 275.70 until February 28, which has now increased to Rs 335.86, while the price of kerosene has increased from Rs 180.53 to Rs 433.40 per liter during this period.

The government also increased the levy on petrol by about Rs. 21 per liter in March. However, the federal government has not increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel three times in a row, and is currently bearing the burden of Rs. 203.88 per liter of high-speed diesel and Rs. 95.59 per liter of petrol.
