Petrol prices likely to rise by Rs4.75 per litre today

Budget 2026-27: Climate support levy on Petrol, diesel likely to double

ISLAMABAD: Petrol prices are reportedly going to be increased by Rs4.75 per liter in the next round of fuel prices; however, there will probably not be an increase in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).

However, the proposed increase is conditional on the imposition of extra petroleum duty before issuing the final notification for new fuel prices, officials said.

In terms of the calculations made by the industry, it is estimated that the ex-refinery price of petrol will witness an increase from Rs270.03 to Rs274.77 per liter during the next pricing cycle.

As per the information provided by industry sources, the expected increase was mainly attributed to the surge in FOB gasoline prices, which witnessed an increase from $139.03 per barrel to $143.01 per barrel during the review period.

Despite the decline in premium charges and incidentals, they have been unable to offset the expected increase, adding that the withdrawal of the earlier PSO addition of Rs1.41 per liter has contributed to the increase.

Expected Fuel Prices

Fuel Type Current Price Expected Price Expected Change
Petrol Rs270.03/litre Rs274.77/litre +Rs4.75
High-Speed Diesel Rs334.74/litre Rs334.93/litre +Rs0.20
