RAWALPINDI: Bushra Bibi, wife of former PM Imran Khan, raises concerns about unsanitary conditions in Adiala Jail. The disclosure about the rats in Bushra Bibi’s cell came to record during a hearing of a case regarding a 190 million-pound reference case.
Bushra Bibi expressed distress about the presence of rats in her prison cell, where she has been detained for months in connection with multiple cases.
Bushra Bibi stated “There are rats in my cell,” while explaining the whole situation before the judge who was hearing the case at Adiala jail.
Moreover, she described how rats would fall from the ceiling while she prayed, and that the issue had been ongoing for three months.
The judge took immediate action, summoning Deputy Superintendent Tahir Siddique Shah and ordering him to address the problem. The deputy superintendent acknowledged the issue and assured the court that it would be resolved.
However, the hearing was adjourned due to the absence of defense lawyers, who have now delayed questioning of the investigative witness for the 10th time. The court will reconvene to give the defense another opportunity to question the witness.
