COA Gen Asim Munir & PM Shehbaz hold talks with UAE President to boost bilateral relations

DUBAI: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to further deepen cooperation between the two countries. The meeting, which was also attended by Army Chief General Asim Munir, was held at Qasr Al Shati Palace.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the economic, trade and development sectors, in line with the two countries’ shared vision of sustainable growth and prosperity. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is in the UAE to attend the World Government Summit 2025, highlighted the importance of bilateral relations, stressing the need to continue joint efforts in various fields.

The World Government Summit, which begins in Dubai today, focuses on the theme of “Shaping the Governments of the Future”. During the meeting, the leaders exchanged views on global governance trends and the challenges posed by changes taking place around the world, stressing the importance of governments being prepared to adapt to these changes and respond effectively.

Furthermore, the leaders recognized the importance of harnessing these changes to accelerate development and build a better future for all. The talks also addressed key regional and international issues of mutual interest, with both sides agreeing on the need to intensify international efforts to promote regional stability, security and peace.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to further strengthen the strategic relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, particularly in areas that benefit both countries and contribute to broader regional stability.
