KARACHI: To support women and facilitate safe transport access, the Sindh government has decided to launch electric scooters (EVs) for women through a lottery system next month.
Under the first phase of the scheme, 1,000 electric scooters will be provided to female recipients. Officials said preparations have been completed for the program.
The scheme is intended to give women an affordable, environmentally friendly, and safe way to travel. This decision was reached at a meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in Karachi.
The meeting also examined the status of various major transport projects being carried out in the province. The province takes another step towards modernizing transportation and fostering sustainable and inclusive mobility.
