Federal & Punjab promote 21 officers to grade 21

ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan on Wednesday announced the promotion of 12 senior officers to Grade 21.

These promotions were given to several officers of the Police Service of Pakistan and the Pakistan Administrative Service.

According to an official notification, the newly promoted officers Saad Akhtar has been directed to continue his duties in the Motorway Police, Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh will remain with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Muhammad Tariq Chohan, Khurram Shakoor and Shahzada Sultan will continue to serve in the police department.

The notification said that Waqar Ahmed Chohan, who is currently serving as Director General NAB Rawalpindi, will continue to serve in his post after being promoted to Grade 21. Similarly, Azad Khan, a police officer posted in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), has been promoted and his services have been transferred to the Balochistan government.

Waseem Ahmed Khan, who is serving in the Punjab government, will continue to serve in his current post after his promotion. Zulfiqar Lark, Sharjeel Karim Kharal and Iqbal Dara will continue to work under the Sindh government. Shakeel Ahmed Durrani will remain in the FIA.

Officers Abbas Ahsan and Muhammad Tahir have been promoted and posted under the FIA ​​department in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. Khurram Ali will work under the Punjab government while Humayun Bashir Tarar, who was awaiting posting, has been promoted and given the Punjab portfolio.

Another police officer serving in the FIA, Muhammad Jaffer, has also been promoted and directed to continue working in his current capacity. 12 officers in the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) have been promoted to Grade 21. Among them, Muhammad Nawaz Naseem, who is currently serving in Sindh, will retain his post. Zafar Iqbal has been promoted and will continue his services as Director General of the Federal Government Housing Authority.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has also promoted 9 senior officers of various departments to Grade 21. According to the notification, Azmat Mahmood Khan and Saulat Saqib will continue to serve under the Punjab government after their promotions. Aamir Jan has been promoted and directed to continue as Executive Director of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).

Similarly, Noreen Bashir, who is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Finance Division, has been promoted and appointed as Additional Secretary, while Islam Zeb will continue as Secretary Finance, Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir after her promotion. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Chohan has been promoted and will continue as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Humayun Khan, who was the former Joint Secretary, Home Division, has been promoted and appointed as Additional Secretary, Power Division. Muhammad Hanif Channa, Minister for Trade and Investment at the Pakistani Embassy in the US, has also been promoted and will continue in his current assignment.

Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman, who is serving at the National School of Public Policy, has also been promoted and will continue his responsibilities in the institution. Asif Ikram, who is currently working with the Sindh government, has also been similarly promoted and has been directed to continue his role. The Punjab government promoted 9 officers to Grade 21.
