Islamabad rape case

ISLAMABAD: A foreign diplomat affiliated with the German Embassy in Islamabad has been found dead in his apartment within the jurisdiction of Islamabad’s Secretariat Police Station.

The police spokesperson said that the deceased has been identified as Second Secretary at the German Embassy, Thomas Jürgen.

According to police officials, the deceased’s body was recovered after German Embassy staff, concerned over his absence from work for two days, broke into his apartment and found him unresponsive.

The police have shifted the body to the hospital for postmortem and initiated further investigation.

“Apparently, the embassy official’s death was natural,” police said, adding that the final cause of death will be ascertained following the autopsy report.
