LAHORE: Punjab Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari has allayed concerns over the paint used on Lahore’s motorcycle lanes, saying that a local company had applied it on a trial basis with a one-year guarantee.
She said that the project did not involve government funding or any payment to the company, as the firm was responsible for re-applying the paint if required.
Responding to Barrister Saif’s remarks, Bukhari pointed out that Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system had faced frequent breakdowns and accidents in the last five years.
Azma highlighted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government still owes Rs. 60 billion for the Peshawar Metro project, which remains under legal proceedings in an international court.
She criticized Barrister Saif for repeatedly targeting Punjab while failing to show any significant achievements of his government.
According to him, people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are still struggling with inadequate transport infrastructure, often crossing rivers using makeshift rafts.
Meanwhile, Punjab is expanding its public transport system, with tram services and the underground metro Green Line project currently underway.
