Balochistan pink water

GADANI: In a rare phenomenon, the seawater in the coastal region of Gadani, Balochistan, turned pink, leaving the residents stunned by this unusual yet beautiful view.

According to the Environmental Protection Department report on the rare phenomenon of the seawater becoming pink in the coastal region of Gadani Jetty in Balochistan.

The Deputy Director of Environment, Imran Saeed Kakar, has said that the water had been stagnant for years, resulting in a natural change microbiologically. This is the primary cause behind the pink color of the water.

Environmental scientists explain that the main reason for this phenomenon is the development of halophilic bacteria and salt-resistant microorganisms in the water.

Not only do they change the color of the water, but they can also be a potential health hazard for humans, scientist added.
