ISLAMABAD: The post-arrest bail applications of former Prime Minister Imran Khan have been scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The two-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi will hear the bail pleas alongside Justice Shafiud Din Sa’idique.
PTI founder, through his counsel Salman Safdar, filed appeals in the May 9 cases. The Lahore High Court had rejected the bail applications.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had rejected the bail applications of PTI founder Imran Khan in 8 cases of May 9, according to media reports.
A 2-member bench headed by Justice Shahbaz Rizvi ruled on the applications by rejecting the bail application of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the 9th May cases.
PTI founder Imran Khan had filed bail applications in 8 cases on May 9, on which the court reserved its decision after the hearing.
Notably, the cases of burning and besieging Jinnah House and Askari Tower have been registered against the PTI founder.
The PTI leadership has expressed dissatisfaction over the verdict of the Lahore High Court in the May 9th cases.
