HONG KONG: Pakistan defeated South Africa by 5 wickets in the second quarter-final of the Hong Kong Sixes.
Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi won the toss and elected to bowl first, in response to which the South African team scored 102 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 6 overs.
Jurek Vann scored 40 runs for South Africa, while Abdullah Bayumi and captain Jordan Morris scored one run each, while Bilki Samjhaman and Ethan John were not out for 26 and 29 runs respectively.
Mohammad Shahzad took 3 wickets for Pakistan.
Chasing the target, Pakistan won the match by scoring 105 runs for the loss of one wicket in 3.5 overs. Opening batsman Abdul Samad played a brilliant innings of 50 runs in 10 balls.
Wicketkeeper-batter Khawaja Nafay scored 36 runs while captain Abbas Afridi scored 12 runs with 2 sixes in 2 balls.
