KARACHI: Karachi is expected to experience cloudy conditions with intermittent drizzle and light rain over the next 24 hours, as reported by Sardar Sarfaraz, Chief Meteorologist at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
In Karachi, today’s minimum temperature is expected to be 28°C, with a maximum ranging between 30°C to 32°C. The PMD reported a 70% humidity level and southwest winds at 26 kilometers per hour.
Sarfaraz indicated that the low-pressure system responsible for the recent rains has moved out of Sindh, but Karachi should still anticipate cloudy skies, drizzle, and light rain.
Moreover, he also warned of a potential new monsoon system that could affect lower Sindh, including Karachi, starting around August 26 or 27. For upper Sindh, Sarfaraz forecasted rain on August 21.
Regarding reports of a record 300 millimeters of rainfall in Sukkur, Sarfaraz clarified that this information is incorrect, with only 116 millimeters recorded over 48 hours. Nearby Rohri received 134 millimeters.
