Fake marriage proposal turns into kidnapping nightmare, Details inside

Marriage can't be forced if both partners say ''NO''

ISLAMABAD: A heart-wrenching tale of deception and kidnapping was reported in Islamabad when a laborer, Amjad Mehmood, fell prey to a cunning trap set by an unknown woman.

The woman, allegedly linked to the notorious Kacha area bandits, lured Amjad with promises of marriage, exploiting his desire to remarry after his wife’s passing.

Amjad’s son, Afaq Ahmad, reported his father missing on August 21, revealing that he had received a chilling call from his father’s phone number, demanding a ransom of Rs20 million and two iPhone sets in exchange for his safe release.

In addition, the kidnappers even sent a distressing video of Amjad bound in chains to blackmail the family. Investigations by the Federal police have uncovered that the woman who entrapped Amjad is associated with the Kacha area dacoits.

Mobile phone records have been obtained, and efforts are underway to rescue Amjad, who has been taken to another province. The police are utilizing all available resources to ensure his safe recovery.
