KARACHI: A new Command and Control Center has been established at the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) to monitor the staff of the People’s Bus Service in real-time.
The center was inaugurated by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and member of Sindh Assembly Sharjeel Memon on Tuesday. With the new system in place, any irregularities such as overcharging of fares or failure to issue tickets will be detected immediately. Memon emphasized that the new system aims to ensure safety and facilitate the recovery of lost items.
Memon also took the opportunity to address the upcoming protest rally announced by the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He claimed that the country’s economy has shown significant improvement, with the stock market on the rise.
However, Memon alleged that PTI is unable to accept this positive development. He criticized PTI’s past protests in Islamabad, stating that they were never peaceful and only sought to create anarchy in the country.
Memon further accused PTI of using state machinery from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to fuel their protests. He warned that violence is not a solution to any problem and that no one can win by using force.
Memon emphasized that certain elements are attempting to create instability in the country, and PTI’s actions are only contributing to this chaos. He urged PTI workers not to be misled and to avoid resorting to violence.
